Founder of Some ME Time - Simone S. Gray
Simone S. Gray is Founder and CEO of Some ME Time. The idea of Some ME Time was born when Simone had a mini mental breakdown, at the time she was a full-time student and employee, had two small children and was in a relationship. The girl was STRESSED! Simone then decided it was time to talk to someone, a professional. It wasn't until her third or fourth session when her therapist Simone knew something was missing. During her session, her therapist said "Simone, I hear you talk about all the things you do for others but what does Simone do for herself? At first to Simone, her questions seemed so selfish but it had her thinking.
When Simone had to create a business plan for her Entrepreneurship Class while in college, the class assignment took a life of its own and fueled her passion for getting people together to enjoy themselves. Her first Some ME Time event, a Pre-Mothers Day Brunch, took place in Brooklyn, NY in May 2005. A total of 65 mothers and daughters attended the event and enjoyed food, a live DJ, a comedy show, door prizes, raffles, games, and bonding. Her first brunch was such a success it has evolved into an annual event that mother's, daughters, sisters, and friends come to enjoy. The Pre-Mothers Day Brunch had 218 women in total in 2010.
During the launching of Some ME Time, Simone worked for a telecommunications company for over ten years. She has since resigned from Corporate America to pursue her dreams of entrepreneurship. She received an Associates degree in Business Management from Empire State College. Simone continues to create empowering and fun filled events for all women. Some of her most recent events include a Dream Board Brunch where women kicked off the new year by creating vision boards for 2013 and a Girl Do YOU event where her attendees treated themselves to Manicures, Massages, and Mimosas and learned how to feel sexier learning sensual dance moves.
Simone lives in Brooklyn, NY with her husband and two children. She dedicates her spare time guest speaking with the youth and volunteering her time with teen girls mentoring programs, community outreach with her church and volunteering her time when possible. Her favorite scripture is "With God all things are possible" Luke 1:37. She enjoys cooking, dancing, laughing and of course inspiring and encouraging all women to live a life that includes their Some ME Time.
